1/4 Beef
Save money and secure your family's food supply with freezer beef from Dry Branch Stock Farm. The most economical way to buy beef, averaging approximately $8 a pound cut & wrapped. This includes all the expensive cuts like filets & ribeyes that typically cost $20 per pound when purchased individually. If you love to cook, love to eat and like saving money, then fill your freezer with farm fresh, dry aged beef raised right here in Danville Kentucky.
Beef will be hung (dry aged) for 21 days, then cut & vacuum sealed. You will receive 1/4 of the animal. We can help get a freezer to you for an additional fee. We feel this is the best value for you and your family, and our preferred way to market our premium beef.
How it works:
- Deposit is due when your order is placed, your final amount will vary depending on the animal's weight at time of butchering. We charge $2.50 per pound live weight, then additional processing fees of approximately $200. With a 1250 pound steer, this will bring a grand total to roughly $1000.
- We'll contact you to go through the process, and give you a timeline based on our workload and animal availability. Typically, it's a 30-45 day window from the time an order is placed to when your beef is delivered. With a 1/4 beef, we have to pair your order with someone who wants the other three quarters.
- When we contact you, we'll discuss the cuts and processing options based on your preferences. Don't worry it isn't that hard.
- Once your beef is cut, wrapped and ready we'll deliver it right to your door. We can assist in getting a freezer if needed for an additional fee.
- Yields roughly 160 pounds of meat, depending on the size of the cow. Usually our cattle are ready to butcher at 1250 pounds. That's why we take a deposit, and final amount will vary. This is the nature of farming and livestock.
Freezer size: a good rule of thumb is 35 pounds of meat for each cubic foot of freezer space. Since deep freezers are sold by the cubic foot, this is easy math.
- whole beef approx 15 cu ft
- 1/2 beef approx 7.5 cu ft
- 1/4 beef approx 3.75 cu ft
